As part of our overall environmental strategy, we are pleased to announce the introduction of a waste treatment and re-cycling preparation process.
This process involves the immediate segregation of different types of waste produced by our operations which are then condensed and bailed by specialist equipment in readiness for re-cycling.
Typically, a massive 80% of our waste arises from three main areas; plastic packaging and bagging of goods received by us, cardboard used in the carriage of goods to us, and spoiled or excess trimmings of foil created in the normal course of our production process.
These types of waste tend to be bulky and have been traditionally difficult to treat and handle without specialist machinery and equipment.
With our new waste treatment and baling plant installed, we are now able to manage treat all our production waste which is fully prepared and ready for re-cycling.
Commenting on this initiative, Managing Director, Adam Klemis, said ‘I am very pleased that we have made this investment as it is entirely in line with our industry’s drive towards environmental sustainability. In addition to the environmental gain, our customers will be pleased as they will ultimately benefit from the waste management cost savings that will eventually accrue to us.’
